　総主教の継承リストは、伝統的に螺旋状に描かれてきました。このような螺旋は聖ハナニヤ修道院（ダイル・アッ＝ザアファラーン）の総主教座に見られます。尚、この種の歴史記述にはしばしばあることですが、総主教の時系列リストの出典は時代によって変化します。以下のリストはイシャーク・サーカの『kaniisatii as-Suryaaniyya』（ダマスカス：1985）に拠るものです。
